My Moroccan Finds
Before and After

In all, we brought back about 50 pounds (20 kilos) of rocks from Morocco.
Complete specimens were not easy to find so preparation of those will come after some level of familiarity and skill is achieved.
To that end, I brought back many that are incomplete, fragmentary or broken. These are intended for "practice" pieces.
The following photos are in chronological sequence as I prep them.

Phacops sp.
Ceratarges Couche - Serdrar
Middle Devonian

Unfortunately, I poked him in the nose with my pen...

Struveaspis sp.
Akantarges Couche - Tinjdad
Devonian

Cephalon of an incomplete specimen

Struveaspis sp.
Akantarges Couche - Tinjdad
Devonian

Thorax and Pygidium of another incomplete specimen.

Phacops sp.
Ceratarges Couche - Serdrar
Middle Devonian

The black lines in the lower half of the rock is this bug before prep.
The other one is still in the rock.

Reedops cephalotes
Dicranurus Couche - Atchana
Devonian

This specimen was in the discard piles. It is not complete on the back side.

Paralejurus sp.
Dicranurus Couche - Atchana
Devonian

I think this one was purchased from Youssef at the pit while having tea.
Unfortunately, the pygidium was already damaged.

Phacops sp.
Dicranurus Couche - Atchana
Middle Devonian

The curvy black line in the lower part of each rock is this trilobite.
Before glueing, one side is partially prepped to have an idea of the orientation.
There is a second trilobite in the rocks toward the top. That one is still inside the rock.

Reedops maurulus
Dicranurus Couche - Atchana
Devonian

This specimen was also the discard piles. It was pretty banged up already.
